Apostrophe Hand Poem
Although I'm not a huge fan of poetry, I had a lot of fun writing my own piece. This project really allowed me to show some creativity when it came to picking the topic I wanted to write about. I felt like this topic was very important to write about, as it shows how much the beauty industry affects our society. This piece also showed a little bit of my personal opinions, something I normally keep out of my writing. |

Poem Character Commentary
This paper is one of my favorite formal pieces from first semester. The paper's main focus is to show how Kahled Hosseini's "The Kite Runner" could compliment and share ideas with Jones Very's "Thy Brother's Blood". The connections I made between the two pieces of literature, I thought, were very well developed and well supported with evidence. I also enjoy this essay because I found both of the pieces of literature used to be very interesting on their own, and I like how well they compared to one another. |

This I Believe Essay
Though this work is from my previous English IV class, it is a piece of writing that I am still incredibly proud of. This is one of the more personal essays I've written, and it made me step out of my comfort zone and taught me a sense of vulnerability. I also believe it is one of the most important pieces I've written, as it reveals an idea that I perscribe to in my life. |

Dante's Inferno Baseball Cards
One of my favorite parts about AP Lit is that it provides opportunities to show creativity, not just academic ability. After completing Dante's Inferno, I was presented with the chance to make "baseball cards" for some of the characters in the Inferno. Though it was sometimes tedious, I had a lot of fun creating them, and I thought they turned out to be pretty well done. |
